Ellen Kyle Vavasour Noel

Confusion about authorship often arises between Ellen Kyle Vavasour Noel (1815-1873), who published most often as Mrs. J.V. Noel, and her daughter, Ellen Vavasour Noel (1835-1902). Ellen Kyle Noel's The Cross of Pride was serialized in the Canadian Illustrated News in 1863; The Secret of Stanley Hall was serialized in the Saturday Reader in 1865. Two novels—Hilda; Or, The Merchant's Secret and Passion and Principle—have not been verified.
